Overview

Each of these plugins were built to solve a specific pain point I encountered while working on the Air Design System at Carrier. Designers were losing time on repetitive manual tasks—like deprecating outdated components, setting up complex data-vis canvases, or maintaining consistent file structures. These gaps created friction in daily work and introduced inconsistencies across the system, which made it clear that small, targeted tools could make a big difference.

Setpoint

Rapid data-vis exploration

Setpoint transforms chart building from a slow, error-prone process into rapid, consistent exploration that frees designers to focus on storytelling.

Sunset

Component deprecation

Sunset streamlined the deprecation process by allowing bulk removal and replacement of outdated components, keeping libraries current with minimal effort.

AirCraft

Design system gamification

AirCraft is an arcade-style game where you defend the grid by destroying incorrect tokens, saving valid ones, and reinforcing your knowledge through trivia.

Structure

Standardizing file structure

Structure provided a fast way to scaffold files and enforce consistent page setups across the system.

Prototypes

Workflow multipliers

Beyond the published tools like Setpoint, Sunset, and Structure, I’ve designed and iterated on several additional Figma plugins to multiply my own workflow speed, reduce friction, and explore future automation opportunities. Most of these are either conceptual, work-in-progress, or developed for personal use and not formally published within Carrier’s ecosystem.

Scaffold

Builds accessible color ramps from a single Hex input, calculating contrast ratios and surfacing compliant steps. Useful for rapid color exploration aligned to accessibility needs.

Sync

Customize multiple similar components (like list items) simultaneously to reduce redundancy and improve memory performance in large files.

Metadata

Copies descriptions, tags, and metadata from a source component to one or more others—keeping documentation aligned as components evolve.

Catalog

Scans frames and auto-generates a labeled grid of icons—great for organizing internal libraries or prepping assets for export and dev handoff.

Impact

Embedded in daily practice

These plugins not only boosted efficiency and improved Figma performance on large-scale projects, but also reinforced system standards by embedding them directly into daily design practice.

Just as importantly, building these tools sparked broader discussions across the team and generated new ideas for future plugins, laying the groundwork for continued streamlining and automation.
